OPENSPACE and THE VAULT are available to rent as exhibition venues for contemporary artists and creatives, with both spaces open year-round from Monday to Saturday. Staffed by experienced gallery assistants, a reduced handling fee of 10% on sold artwork compares favourably with the industry norm of 50% commission.
Grantown-on-Spey is the de facto creative capital of the Cairngorms National Park, with a bustling high street that draws loyal local patronage and increasing visitor numbers every year. The venue is situated at the main crossroads in the town, with excellent visibility and footfall. Highland Artisans, a thriving business selling locally made crafts and produce, occupies the main retail space at the premises.
As a working artist, I know how hard it can be to negotiate the terms for showcasing and selling your work. I hope that this minimal commission structure enables other local artists — as well as genuine talent from further afield — to connect their art with new audiences and to breathe new life into the old bank.
